Corinth man dies in car crash

CORINTH — A 68-year-old Corinth man died in a single-car crash on Friday, according to Vermont State Police.

Wade Vangorden Sr. was driving a 2019 Ford Ranger eastbound on Goose Green Road, near the town garage, on Friday afternoon at about 4:30 p.m. when it left the roadway, struck a tree and came “to a position of uncontrolled rest,” according to a state police news release.

Vangorden was declared dead at the scene. The vehicle was totaled. 

In addition to police, Vermont Fish & Game wardens, the Corinth Fire Department and Upper Valley Rescue responded to the crash.

The cause of the crash is unknown. Neither speed nor impairment are believed to be contributing factors. Vangorden was wearing a seat belt.
