QUECHEE — Route 4 in Quechee was closed for several hours between Deweys Mills Road and Quechee Main Street due to a crash.
A Monday morning alert from Vermont Emergency Management went out at 10:35 a.m. and the road didn’t reopen until 2:30 p.m.
An RV and an empty dump truck belonging to the Vermont Agency of Transportation collided just before the antique mall off Route 4, according to Hartford Police Department investigator Eric Clifford. Three people were transported to the hospital. The dump truck driver has serious injuries, while the two people in the RV had minor injuries, police said.
The crash came after a $19.1 million project to fix the Quechee Gorge Bridge, on Route 4 about half a mile from the accident scene, began last week.
