Town Meeting: Enfield voters approve all zoning amendments

ENFIELD — Voters reelected Selectboard chairman John Kluge and elected Tracy Young to three-year terms on the Selectboard.

Kluge (258 votes) and Young (226 votes) defeated Douglas Smith, who received 191 votes.

Alice Kennedy won an uncontested race for a one-year term on the Selectboard.

Dimitri Deserranno, Nancy L. Smith and Timothy D. Lenihan were chosen for three-year terms on the Budget Committee. Deserrano, currently chair of the budget committee (230 votes); Smith (288 votes); and Lenihan (196 votes), bested James Fickett (173 votes).

Lenihan also was elected to a one-year term on the Zoning Board of Adjustment, receiving 230 votes, along with Susan Wrobleski (178 votes), defeating Celie Aufiero (196 votes).

Voters also approved six zoning amendments, including one that will allow homeowners to build two accessory dwelling units and another that increases housing density in the town’s sewer district. They also approved changing the wetland setback to 100 feet and creating a historic district in Enfield Center.

Residents will gather for the floor portion of Town Meeting at 9 a.m. Saturday at Enfield Village School, where they will decide on the proposed $8.19 million operating budget, as well as the creation of a town forest, among other articles.
