HARTLAND — Nancy Tusinski, who has served as director of the Hartland Public Library for six years, has announced her retirement.

Tusinski’s last day will be May 27, according to an announcement in the Hartland library’s newsletter, which was sent to patrons Wednesday. She has worked as a librarian for 23 years.

“The relationships that small rural library staff have with the people who visit and use the library is as rich as it is varied, and one of the very best things about working in a public library,” Tusinski wrote in the newsletter.

The Hartland Public Library Board of Trustees is in the process of appointing an interim director and will be moving forward with forming a search committee to hire a new library director, she added during a phone interview.
