Regional planning commission to offer composting workshops

ENFIELD — The Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission is set to host a series of at-home composting workshops this fall.

The workshops will discuss “best practices” for composters, and what food materials can and can’t be composted.

The events will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on the following dates and locations:

■Saturday, Sept. 16, at the Enfield Public Works Facility, 74 Lockehaven Road.

■Friday, Sept. 29, at Whipple Hall in New London, 25 Seamans Road.

■Saturday, Sept. 30, at the former Cornish General Store, 226 Route 120.

In person attendees will receive a bucket or compost bin at no charge while supplies last, according to the planning commission’s website.
