LEBANON — The Lebanon School Board will hold a public hearing on Wednesday for a 2023-2024 school operating budget proposal and additional warrant articles that will go before city voters for approval in March.
Last month the Lebanon School Board voted 8-1 to approve a $49 million operating budget proposal for next school year, with just under $35 million to be raised by taxes.
The proposed budget is an increase of about $2 million from the current year’s budget.
If approved it would raise the tax rate by 83 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value, the equivalent of an additional $248 on a $300,000 home.
The final warrant is also expected to include three additional articles proposing new multi-year collective bargaining agreements for the district administrators, school support staff and administrative assistants, totalling $472,000 in the first contract year.
If Lebanon voters approve all warrant articles in March, including the operating budget, the total tax rate impact would be $1.03 per $1,000 of assessed property value, equal to an additional $309 on a $300,000 home.
The public hearing will take place in the Lebanon Middle School cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. To participate in the meeting remotely, visit the district website at sau88.net find the meeting agenda and Zoom link.
