LEBANON — The Lebanon Police Department said it will conduct am active shooter training exercise in conjunction with FitKids Childcare at the River Valley Club at Centerra in Lebanon on Thursday, May 23.

The exercise, which will run from 8 a.m. to noon and involve multiple multiple police and first-responder agencies, “is aimed to enhance the emergency response capabilities and ensure that participants are well-prepared in the event of an actual emergency,” Lebanon police said in a news release on Monday.

Police said that people can expect to see an increased presence of emergency personnel and emergency vehicles in the area during the exercise but there is no anticipated impact on traffic or local businesses.

Lebanon police previously conducted active-shooter drills at Lebanon City Hall in 2020 and near the city airport in 2021.

For questions about the exercise, people can call the Lebanon Police Department at 603-448-1212.
