Highlights: Jewell (3 goals, 2 assists, 4 draw controls); one goal each for Hadley Rich, Lindsey Stark, Audrey Newton, Biff Maher and Norah Burns. Abby Auch added an assist. Drew Kantor with seven saves. Ripley was a force on defense from end to end.

Crew

Hanover crew teams excel
in Connecticut River competitions

Highlights: Over the last three weekends, Hanover High Crew has sent over 900 rowers down their race course on the Connecticut River. The team, which is over 120 rowers strong, has enjoyed hosting crews and working to improve their craft. Last weekend, they hosted Tabor Academy and Hingham High School, both traveling up from Massachusetts. The first boat, girls driven by Meghan O’Hern and boys driven by Talia Daft defeated both teams. O’Hern will be joining the UMass team next year and Daft will part of Michigan’s crew. Hanover also swept Tabor in all girls and boys races taking The Flame, a trophy the two schools have exchanged over the years to celebrate their racing relationship. Hanover looks forward to the NEIRA (New England Rowing Association) championships next weekend in Worcester, Mass., where they expect to have five of their six boats qualify to make the race.

Softball

Hartford 13, Rutland 11

Key players: Hartford — Miranda Rogers, Sylvia Johnson, Harper Robinson

Highlights: Pitching in her first game of the season, Rogers gets three strikeouts, holding Rutland to 3 runs in 5 innings. She also had 2 singles and 2 RBIs. Johnson played left field with 5 put outs and 1 RBI. Robinson with 3 singles and great game behind the plate.

Records: Hartford 8-2; Rutland 4-7
