BOYS BASKETBALL

Hartford 93, Mount St. Joseph 22

Key players: Hartford — Sophomores Ryan Murphy (16 points), Noah Danieli (15 points) and Kole Fotion (13 points); senior Brody Tyburski (12 points); Mount St. Joseph — Gavin Treanor (8 points)

Highlights: Top-ranked Hartford led 54-12 over 16th-seeded MSJ at halftime en route to the VPA Division II tournament victory. The Hurricanes advance to play ninth-ranked Lamoille in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Highlights: Pinkerton took a 3-2 lead at 6:13 of second period, but Hanover scored three goals in three-minute span late in the period and added two more in third period to pull away.

Key players: Hartford — Nella Bowen, Zoe Zanleoni, Braelyn Park; Champlain Valley/Mount Mansfield — Ella Gilbert, Alex Walpole, Mackenzie Rivard

Highlights: Hartford led 1-0 until the third period. The Hurricanes’ Zoe Zanleoni put away two more goals in the third. Hartford put in their third-string skaters, and Champlain Valley/Mount Mansfield pulled their goalie for a six-on-five advantage to put one away with 16 seconds remaining in the game.

Coach’s quote: “Not a bad way to close out the season. We were able to practice some things we’ve been working on in the last few weeks, and we are able to play our (five-on-three power play) four times and work against some aggressive players. Everyone got into the game, tying a bow on the regular season.” — Hartford’s Kylie Young

Hanover 1, Woburn 1

Key players: Hanover — Maeve Lee (1 goal), Lucy Braga (1 assist), Eleanor Edson (16 saves), Julia Lawe (flying tonight); Woburn — Savannah Powers (1 goal), Cadence Pearce (30 saves)

Highlights: Maeve Lee split the Tanners’ defense and beat the Woburn goalie glove side with 4:11 left to tie the game. Eleanor Edson made some big saves early in the third period to keep it a one-goal game.
