Boys Soccer

White River Valley 3, Rivendell 2 (OT)

Key players: White River Valley — Rivendell — Javen Welch, Will Knowles, Evan Woodward.

Highlights: The Raptors got out to a 2-1 lead on first half goals by Welch and Knowles, with goalie Woodward coming up with 12 saves but the visiting White River Valley boys got the equalizer with Kelan Tlumacki’s goal near the end of the second half. and the winner in the first overtime to leave with a 3-2 victory. WRV’s Quin Grace won the game with a loose ball follow up 8 minutes into the first overtime. Brayden Russ scored the opener for the Wildcats.

Hartford 4, Stratton Mountain 2

Key players: Hartford — Tighe Hrabchak, Colin Morlock, Sam Peckinpaugh, Sam Morris. Stratton Mountain — Chas Benyik, Trevor Phaneuf.

Highlights: Hartford opened the scoring within the first 90 seconds on a goal by Morris assisted by Hrabchak. Hrabchak doubled the Hurricanes’ lead six minutes later. Shortly after the Hurricanes’ second goal, Stratton scored on a PK by Phaneuf. Stratton leveled the game 2-2 five minutes before halftime on a goal by Benyik. Hartford came out strong in the second half and scored its third goal with Hrabchak’s second of the game eight minutes into the second half. Hartford extended the lead back to two goals with a goal by Morlock, assisted by Peckinpaugh. With the win, Hartford finishes the regular season 12-2 and expects the No. 2 seed in the VPA D-II state tournament. The Hurricanes also wrapped up their third-straight SVL-B league title with Wednesday’s win.

Enosburg 4, Oxbow 1

Key players: Enosburg — Wilder Howell, Brody Wells, Isaac Peloubet, Michael Murphy, Sawyer Bentley. Oxbow — Andrew Barrett, Jayden Huntoon.

Highlights: Enosburg’s Murphy scored 2 goals, Peloubet and Bentley with had 1 goal each, Howell and Wells each had 1 assist and Bentley earned 2 assists. Oxbow’s Barrett had 1 assist and Huntoon scored Oxbow’s lone goal.

Girls Soccer

Brattleboro 3, Hartford 2 (OT)

Key players: Hartford — Sam Fraser, Mackenzy Carrier, Wren Parker.

Highlights: Fraser scored her first career goal for the Hurricanes to tie the game 1-1 at halftime. Brattleboro scored with 10 mins left to go up 2-1. Carrier scored on an assist from Parker to tie it with 2 minutes to go before Brattleboro got the winner in overtime.

Volleyball

Hanover 3, John Stark 1

Key players: Hanover — Ellie Molina, Claire Starosta, Laura Schaner, Olivia Grabinksi.

Highlights: Molina had a double double with 16 kills, 12 digs and 5 aces. Starosta also had a double double with 10 kills, 10 digs, 5 aces and 3 blocks. Grabinski had 24 assists. Schaner had 6 aces and 6 kills.

Highlights: Mascoma’s win was during their game for cancer awareness.

Cross Country

WEST CANAAN — The Mascoma boys cross country team celebrated Senior Day in a big way Wednesday, winning a four-team meet and placing five runners in the top seven, including race winner Gunner Currier.

Currier finished the 5K course with a field of 31 runners in 17:23 with teammates Carl Russell in third (18:12), Brody Albanese fourth, (18:33). Trevor Maheu fifth (18:38) and Karson Rogers seventh (18:41).

For the girls, which did not have a team score, Emma Colburn was fifth out of 16 runners with a time of 24:13.
