HANOVER — A 38-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday and charged with threatening a Dartmouth College student with a handgun during an altercation in Hanover on the previous Friday, according to a news release from police.

Bruce Baldacchino and an unnamed Dartmouth student got into a “confrontation while both were driving their vehicles” on East Wheelock Street at around 7:50 p.m., police said.

Baldacchino allegedly “brandished a handgun and pointed it directly at the victim before fleeing the area in his vehicle,” according to a news release from Hanover police.

On Tuesday, a Hanover police officer spotted Baldacchinno driving through downtown and stopped the vehicle, police said.

Baldacchino was found with a loaded purple-colored handgun that police say was the same one brandished in the East Wheelock Street “altercation” four days earlier.

Baldacchino was charged with felony criminal threatening. After processing at the Hanover police station, he was released on his own recognizance.
