In voting Tuesday, Republican Michael Tagliavia, of Corinth, unseated incumbent Democrat Carl Demrow, also of Corinth, for a House seat representing four Orange County towns.

Taliavia, a member of Corinth’s road crew, earned 1,363 votes to Demrow’s 1,188.

The district includes Orange, Washington, Corinth and Vershire.

Demrow, a carpenter and construction worker, was first elected in 2018. He ran again in 2020 and lost before being reelected in 2022.
