HAVERHILL — The superintendent of the supervisory union that includes schools in the Upper Valley towns of Haverhill and Piermont is scheduled to retire at the end of this school year.

The SAU 23 School Board is conducting a search for a replacement for Laurie Melanson, who is set to retire in June, according to a Facebook post on the district’s page. The board has contracted with the New Hampshire School Boards Association and The Bryan Group to conduct the search.

The board is seeking additional members for the search committee, which is to include six board members, two building administrators, three teachers, two other staff members and two community members. Meetings are planned for twice a month in October and November for 1½ to 3 hours each. Four to five meetings are planned in January and February to conduct interviews.

Those interested in participating are invited to contact Dawn Burleson at the SAU office at 603-787-2113 ext. 116.
