Post-secondary graduations

Sarah Sewall Miller, of Hanover, earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa., this spring.

Mary Zantzinger, of Barnard, earned a bachelor’s degree in music from the Longy School Of Music through Emerson College in Boston this spring.

Kendyl R. Boisvert, of Orford, earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Western New England University in Springfield, Mass., this spring.

Post-secondary accomplishments

The following Upper Valley residents made the dean’s list at Western New England University in Springfield, Mass., for the spring 2024 semester: Kendyl Boisvert, Orford, neuroscience; Joseph Beggs, White River Junction, sport management; and John Bieszczad, Grantham, biomedical engineering.

The following Upper Valley residents made the dean’s list at the University of Massachusetts Amherst for the spring 2024 semester: Derek Alexander Lacy, Hanover; Nora L Paydarfar, Hanover; Olivia Marie Trummel, Hanover; Adriana Maria Caraeni, Lebanon; Evan Lyon, Lebanon; Meghan Georgia Clough, Enfield; Jesse Middleton Foote, Claremont; Tara Nakagawa Gensure, Newport; Jager North Klema, Charlestown; Dina Hertog-Raz, Norwich; Jon Protas, Norwich; and Megan LaCroix, Woodstock.

Educator accomplishments

April Guinness is Mascoma Valley Regional School District’s new curriculum director. Guinness previously served as interim principal of Canaan Elementary School, according to a news release from the district. During her 21 years working for the district, Guinness has been employed as a math teacher, associate principal and athletic director at Indian River School and mathematics curriculum coordinator at Mascoma Valley Regional High School.

Educator events

The Upper Valley Teaching Place Collaborative’s fall conference — with a theme of “Curiosity, Caring, and Collaboration: Place-based Teaching in Action” — will take place Friday, Nov. 1st at Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee. The conference is open to all educators, school administrators, and community leaders from throughout New England.
