Upper Valley school notes for July 15

Hannah Giguere, of Lebanon, earned the Vermont Land Trust’s Land Steward Award. Giguere attends the Natural Resources program at the Hartford Area Career & Technology Center in White River Junction. She also works at McNamara Dairy Farm in Plainfield and is a member of Lebanon High School’s fishing club, according to a news release. Giguere plans on pursuing a career in forestry, land management,and conservation. “I see value in the preservation of the land and I hope my future career in a forestry field will help me build a deeper connection,” she said in the release.
Lucas Adams and Shawn Adams, both of Hartford, earned degrees from Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y., this spring.

Mascoma Valley Regional School District Director of Special Education Chris Beeso has been elected to the New Hampshire Association of Special Education Administrators. Beeso has worked in special education since 1985, according to a news release from the school district. He joined Mascoma in 2018 after serving as the Claremont School District’s director of special education for 2015 to 2018. Besso, of Henniker, N.H., is also on the board of directors for PathWays of the River Valley.
