Town Meeting preview: Vershire voters to gather for Sunday meeting

Article of note: In ballot voting on Sunday, voters will be asked whether to purchase a 2022 CAT backhoe that the town is currently leasing by converting the lease into a loan of five years or less. They also will be asked whether they want to appropriate $67,000 for the Vershire Fire and Rescue.

Contested races: There are no contested races.

Budgets and spending articles: The proposed operating budget is $335,000, which is up about $10,000 from last year. The highway budget is $430,000, which also is up about $10,000 from last year.

When, where and how to vote: Vershire is scheduled to hold its Town Meeting on Sunday, May 21 at 1 p.m. at the Town Center, 27 Vershire Center Road. Australian ballot voting for officers and the budget will take place from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. The informational meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 20 at 2 p.m. at the Town Center.
