CHARLESTOWN — Hope Schraer, of Enfield, and Allen Ballou, of Royalton, were the two victims of a mobile home fire on Crown Point Drive last Thursday.

The New Hampshire Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Schraer, 36, and Ballou, 38, both died from smoke inhalation, according to a news release from the New Hampshire Department of Safety. The deaths were deemed to be accidental.

The fire broke out prior to 7 a.m. last Thursday at the Charlestown residence. Following the fire, a neighbor said the owner of the home was away at the time.

The New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Charlestown Fire and Police departments are continuing to investigate the fire’s cause. Those with information are asked to call 603-223-4289 or email fmo@dos.nh.gov.
