CHELSEA — A 24-year-old Woodsville man pleaded guilty to vandalizing the soccer field at Oxbow High School last year and will avoid jail time providing he completes community service hours and a restorative justice program.

Trevor Kingsbury pleaded guilty on Aug. 1 to a single misdemeanor count of unlawful mischief and was sentenced to between one month and 12 months in jail, all suspended, and was placed on probation for one year in Orange County Superior Court in Chelsea, according to Vermont state court records.

Under his sentence, Kingsbury must complete 50 hours of community service, pay restitution that is ordered, complete a restorative justice program and not enter the premises of Oxbow High School, according to court records.

Kingsbury, a 2018 graduate of Oxbow High, was charged in November, 2023, with tearing up the soccer field at Oxbow High by using his pickup truck to “pull donuts” on the field and causing tens of thousands of dollars in damage, school officials said.
