Local roundup: Woodstock girls basketball comes from behind to defeat Rivendell
ORFORD — The Woodstock High girls basketball team staged an impressive comeback Monday to knock off homestanding Rivendell, 33-30.
The Wasps trailed, 13-0, after a quarter, before puling within 17-14 at halftime. The Raptors led, 26-22, following the third stanza but surrendered 11 of the contest’s final 15 points.
Woodstock’s Alice Cayer caused a turnover with two minutes remaining. It led to a Georgia Tarleton 3-point basket and that bucket pushed the visitors’ lead to five.
Jordan Allard and Norah Harper each scored 12 points for Woodstock (2-3). Tarleton added seven points for the Wasps. Ryleigh Butler led the hosts with 14 points, but her 0-5 team was only 1-of-6 from the free-throw line. Woodstock was 4-of-5 from the charity stripe.
Woodstock hosts Springfield on Thursday. Rivendell hosts Mid Vermont Christian on Friday.
SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — Sophia Rockwood had 19 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists and four steals to lead the Yellowjackets past the Cosmos. Macie Stagner led Springfield with 16 points.
Windsor’s Sydney Perry had 18 points, 12 rebounds, four steals and four blocks and Audrey Rupp added nine points and five assists for the Yellowjackets (5-2), who host Brattleboro on Thursday.

Grace Hayes, Sophie Trombley and Nedra Dwinell scored for Hartford, which hosts Spaulding on Wednesday.
