WHITE RIVER JUNCTION — The smell of smoke awoke a napping father who climbed out his bedroom window when he encountered a smoke-filled hallway at a Crystal Place home on Thursday evening.
Contested races: There are three candidates for two open seats representing Woodstock on the School Board: incumbent Matt Stout, as well as Sarit Werner and Kelly Linton. Carin Ewing Park is running uncontested for reelection to represent Barnard on the board. Bridgewater incumbent Lara Bowers also is running uncontested for reelection.
