Hartford

Coach: Cean Lieberman (fifth season).

League: VPA, Southern Division.

Roster: Senior — Hailey Rogers. Sophomores — Joey Gallant, Kara Robinson. Freshmen — Connor Fredholm, Nara Gallagher, Lyndsey Davis.

Analysis: Without a local bowling alley after the closing of Upper Valley Lanes and Games, the Hurricanes have struggled the past few years recruiting members to the team. Hailey Rogers is returning to the team this year after a year away and is the Canes’ lone senior. Sophomore Joey Gallant is team captain and looks to build on a strong freshman season.

“Our focus this year is fundamentals, and allowing the kids to have fun and learn the sport while potentially making bowling a part of their lives beyond their school years,” coach Cean Lieberman said. “A good number of our players are new to the game, though they all seem very eager to learn and are very adaptable to doing the things necessary to become a better bowler than they were when they first signed up.”

Windsor

Coach: Steve Bly (11th season).

Last year: Second in VPA Southern Division, sixth in states. Patrick Kelley had the second-best individual average with 208.

Returners: Juniors — Victoria Feickert, Avery Bean. Sophomore — Alyssa St. Louis.

Newcomers: Senior — Bella Foster. Sophomore — Rowan Sheffield. Freshmen — Roxie Sherwin, Sam Russel, Marcus Attwood, Keira Frost.

Analysis: Avery Bean and Alyssa St. Louis both return from top-32 individual finishes last year and Roxie Sherwin joins the program with plenty of experience bowling in Springfield.

“I believe we’ll be pretty solid this year. We have experience and some new bowlers who could prove to be beneficial late in the season,” coach Steve Bly said.
